Allen Matkins attorneys do pro bono work for a simple but compelling reason: to make the legal system accessible and fair, especially to the poor and disadvantaged and to the nonprofit organizations that serve them. In 2015, Allen Matkins provided pro bono services to individuals seeking asylum or debt relief, victims of domestic violence, members of the U.S. military, and families seeking assistance with foster care, guardianship and adoption. To highlight these efforts, the firm launched a new pro bono webpage designated to posting related videos, “year-in-review” reports, testimonials from individuals and organizations who benefited from these services and more.
“We are proud not only of the excellent legal work we do for our pro bono clients, but also our relationships with our clients and with our partner agencies, public interest organizations that refer matters to us and often work with us on individual matters,” says Emily Murray, Allen Matkins partner and Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. “These organizations provide tremendous support to those most in need, and we are honored to work alongside them. We look forward to continuing to grow our pro bono program at Allen Matkins and supporting our attorneys and staff, and our partner public interest agencies, whose commitment makes our pro bono program a success.”
