Allen Matkins is pleased to announce the hiring of its new Chief Operating Officer Ralph Allen. Based out of the Orange County office, Ralph started his new position on May 4. He succeeds Michael Palmer who will be retiring this year after 10 years of service with the firm.
Prior to arriving at Allen Matkins, Ralph held several senior positions at global law firms, most recently as the Managing Director of Operations – The Americas at Squire Patton Boggs, and prior to that as Chief Operating Officer at Patton Boggs. His success in previous roles reflects his ability to transition traditional staffing and budgeting structures into systems that enable greater efficiency, cost effectiveness and value-added client deliverables. At Allen Matkins, he will utilize the strengths of the firm’s support staff and technology tools to further its strategic positioning and growth.

Ralph is an active member of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). He received his B.A. from George Washington University and his M.B.A., with honors, from Clark Atlanta University. Ralph has received certificates from multiple executive courses at Harvard Business School, including Leading Professional Services Firms and Global Strategic Management. He was named a Top Private Company COO by ExecRank in 2012.
