In September, CASA’s Hispanic Advisory Council (HAC) hosted a lunch and art event for Orange County foster youth at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCA) in the Artist’s Village of downtown Santa Ana. Renowned Mexican Artist, Jose Lozano conducted a workshop teaching his painting techniques to the kids. Allen Matkins sponsored the event by producing a video.
The band, La Santa Cecilia, which was nominated for a Latin Grammy last year, also conducted a workshop, teaching the children how to design their own CD cover. At the end of the two workshops, the children and their CASA advocates listened to La Santa Cecilia perform several songs.
Lydia Duynstee, paralegal and Kim Rodriguez, secretary in our Irvine office were in attendance. Lydia serves as a CASA advocate and board member of CASA’s HAC and Kim has been a long-time supporter of CASA.
